Following a sell out Edinburgh Fringe run, Vix Leyton brings Chief Petty Officer back to Sheffield for its first full performance since the festival.

Part stand-up, part comedy lecture, Chief Petty Officer is an over-researched investigation into pettiness: why we do it, when it works, and how far is too far when somebody has mildly annoyed you.
At the centre of it all is the Hill to Die On, a 'highly scientific' formula she designed to calculate the point at which satisfying pettiness tips over into catastrophic commitment to the bit.
Sheffield audiences helped shape the show through a series of work-in-progress performances at Square Hole and Fat Cats before it headed to Edinburgh. Now, with new material and experience learned from a packed Fringe rooms, the finished version is back.

Vix Leyton is an award-winning comedian, writer, broadcaster and consumer commentator based in Sheffield.
Her live comedy has sold out at festivals around the UK, including the Edinburgh Fringe, and she is the host of The Comedy Arcade, the smash-hit podcast live show bringing comedians together for storytelling, games and competitive chaos.
A regular voice on BBC Radio Sheffield, Vix is also a familiar face and voice across national media, with appearances including BBC Morning Live, BBC Radio 4’s You and Yours, LBC and Steph’s Packed Lunch. Alongside her comedy work, she is an established consumer commentator, regularly discussing money, spending, consumer behaviour and the strange decisions people make when their wallets are involved.

Her latest show, Chief Petty Officer, turns that approach on to pettiness, examining famous grudges, historical feuds and spectacular acts of unnecessary escalation through original research, audience judgement and an alarming number of graphs. Developed through work-in-progress shows around the country, it went on to a hugely successful 2026 Edinburgh Fringe run with packed rooms, standing-room-only performances and strong reviews.
